Well, you know what I like to write. But maybe you're wondering what I like to read. Here are some of my favorite Dawson's Creek fanfics, written by some of my favorite authors.

If you like the story, please take a second to send feedback to the author. It's the only coin we fanfic authors get paid in.

  • Down Low, by Kilby
Kilby was one of the first fanfic authors I became friends with, and "Down Low" was the story that got me hooked. Interestingly enough, she doesn't count this among her favorites, but it's always been one of mine. Maybe it's because I can relate to the situation that Pacey finds himself in. Anyway, if Pacey/Joey angst is your cup of tea, this is the story for you.

  • Cruel Summer, by Angie
There are a lot of authors out there who get a lot of attention, and Angie is one of the ones who really deserves it. I had a hard time picking a favorite story that she has written, because they're all so good. Of all the fanfic authors I know, Angie is one who never misses. Every story she produces is of the highest quality. In this story, Joey and Pacey find themselves in the unlikely positions of summer camp counselors. What happens between these two characters as they learn about themselves, and each other, far away from the familiar environment of Capeside and everyone else they know, is a joy to read.

  • Disclosure, by Fionna
I'm not sure if Fionna's was the first Dawson's Creek fanfic I ever read, but I know that it was the first I ever enjoyed so much that I sent the author feedback. Lots of elements separate the good fiction from the bad fiction that's out there on the 'net. One of the most key of those is dialogue. Fanfiction is all about taking your words, and putting them into the characters' mouths. If your reader can't hear those words being said by those characters, you've failed. When I read this story by Fionna, not only could I see Dawson and Joey having this conversation, I could hear them. Every word rings true.
